Come join us for a fun and free family weekend at Ivy Payne's Wildlife Refuge!
Enjoy Fall colors, cool air, and great company on guided or self-led tours of the East Texas hills and creek bottoms of Parker Creek in Anderson County. This refuge represents the unique confluence of Trinity River bottomland hardwoods, the iron ore sandstone hills of east Anderson County, and the Piney woods ecosystems.
Nature walks, led by Earl Mathew and Master Naturalist, Dr. Heinz Gaylord, will begin at 9:00am and 1:30pm on Saturday, November 22nd and at 9:00am on Sunday, November 23rd. We will have a potluck dinner Saturday evening with slide shows about the plants and seasons at the Ivy Payne Wildlife Refuge.
Camping is primitive in woods adjacent to a large, covered pavilion which has 2 full bathrooms and a kitchen for common use. Small RV’s can be accommodated as well. No RV hookups and no generators can be used.
