We often think about donating non-perishable food, gently used clothing and other household items to help those in need. But what about tools? This year, TLC is turning Giving Tuesday (December 3rd) into Giving “Tools” Day!
Donate new or gently-used tools to help staff and volunteers maintain our preserves across the state! We have a number of work days throughout the year where we pick up trash, clear trails, and remove invasive species. Having the tools to complete these tasks helps make sure our preserves are more accessible, and can be safe and enjoyed by everyone.
Join us for a work day:
- Oak Cliff Nature Preserve Monthly Work Day (Dallas, TX)
- Marysee Prairie Monthly Work Day (1 hour northeast of Houston, TX)
- Kachina Prairie Work Day (Ennis, TX)
Donate to support prescribed burns. Frequent, low-intensity burns are one of the most important tools to best maintain and improve ecosystem health. If you would like to support this effort, please write “prescribed burn” in the notes section on the Giving “Tools” Day donation form.
