Pinching myself:
Two months ago, I moved back to my home state and began my adventure as one of TLC’s Stewardship Directors. If, like many of my friends and family, you aren’t quite sure what that entails, let me show you what the last two months have looked like for me.
I do a lot of data collection.
I talk to wonderful people with life-long connections to their land.
I hug the occasional tree.
I check out the less occasional cave.
I do a lot of driving.
I get taken on property tours by landowners.
I never miss an opportunity to get my feet wet!
Since I’m responsible for visiting half of the 123 properties we protect, I spend a lot of time travelling all over Texas meeting with private landowners and seeing beautiful places. These private landowners work to protect the ecologically significant areas that they are lucky enough to call home. I am lucky to spend time in these places, hear the stories of these properties, and be a part of protecting the nature of Texas.
