Marysee Prairie Monthly Workday

Marysee Prairie is one of the last remnants of tallgrass prairie in the Big Thicket region. Come assist Texas Land Conservancy in their ongoing effort to revive and maintain the native grasses and wildflowers on this site near Batson, Texas. Work tasks vary by month, but they involve controlling the regrowth of woody species and keeping the prairie clear for mowing. Tools are provided. There is a possible option to carpool from central Houston for those interested.

If there is poor weather on the first Saturday, the workday will be scheduled for the following Saturday.

Marysee Prairie is located in Liberty County, approximately 65 miles northeast of central Houston, between Moss Hill and Batson. 30.254899°, -94.6800920176° you can put these coordinates into google maps for best directions.

Please RSVP if you plan on attending so we can update you if plans change (ex. If there is poor working weather)
